About Us

To see all of the fabric, kits, patterns, embellishment and more you got to see Fabrics of the World

So here it is again, December. 2005 marks 3 years since I first opened my virtual doors. Where have 3 1/2 years gone! It continues to be a wonderful journey since I decided to leave a job with a secure paycheck for the "unknown" world of selfemployment! I've made new friends both in person and virtually. I think about all of you often and wonder how your projects are going and if you're making a dent in your UFO's.
I've remained active in both of the local guilds and I've enjoyed three retreats this year, as a vendor and a real live participant. It was fun revisiting some of my UFO's and now with an additional 484 square feet for my studio I'll be able to actually find more of those lovingly hidden projects that I started years ago!

After over a year of planning the new studio is now a reality and I'll be able to claim some personal living space. It will be a work in progress for some weeks yet but I definitely see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Here it is. The Garage. This is where it all began! The entrance was walled to provide a cleaner room with more wall space. This will someday become my family room!

Above you see the results of the end of the first 2 years. No living room left! But what a sight when I sit at the table and look across at the wall of color. It is very exciting.

The Fat Quarter Wall
This is the famous wall of fat quarters (very popular with the local quilters). Since I also vend at quilt shows I'm always cutting fat quarters. This particular room has patterns and fat quarters and the space is filling quickly.
Here is the first wall almsot complete in the new studio. It looks empty now but wait until the 800 plus bolts of fabric get in here! Stay tuned.
Just a little about me. I was born in W.Va. the oldest of 4 children. Raised a normal life. Married, moved across the river to Ohio. My husband and I had 3 great children. Life was pretty normal for all of us up until my husband died suddenly at 40 years of age. Then life changed. For myself and my children. It's amazing how "Life" just seems to roll along. I've had many experiences since my childhood (as we all have) some really good and some, well, not so good. I believe it's not what we experience in life but what we do with our experiences.
Below are my family photos. They are the people that are the most important in my life. Together we create memories for ourselves and their families. And in the end that is all we really have...memories.
I like to think that fabric represents the experiences that we have all had, some are bright, some are pale, some quiet and some wild! We take fabric and create a quilt, wall hanging, wearable art item or even just a table runner which represent the tangible memories of our experiences. I hope that each of you create many many memories.
